A flipped classroom is one where the standard educational environment is reversed. The lesson is watched by the students at home, and the class time is spent doing the homework. This strategy gives students more time to spend asking questions and working through problems with the teacher. More activities can take place during the class time, which can be beneficial for the students learning progress.
Open educational resources can be used freely by anyone. They're often used when it comes to teaching and research. When it comes to education, people can access OER and find ways to implement them in their classroom. I found an article that talks about why OER are important and the effect they have on education, specifically in a university setting. http://www.irrodl.org/index.php/irrodl/article/view/469
From working on the powerpoint, I learned how to use skills such as creating transitions, animations, and actions. I liked getting to apply each skill I learned, and be creative with the assignment. Some parts were more complex to figure out, but the more I did it the easier it got. Something I want to improve on is getting the animations to work for the pictures when the automatic slide progression is taken off.

From working with Diigo, I've learned how the website works and how it is helpful. I learned how to create a bookmark, share the bookmark, add comments to a post, etc. Diigo will be useful in the classroom because it can be used for projects and it can also be used with team members to share bookmarks. In individual efforts it is helpful in saving links and creating the bookmarks easily and efficiently.
Powerpoint is a useful tool when it comes to all of Bloom's Taxonomy. For example, if you are learning about the scientific method it can be used to create because you can create a powerpoint all about the information. Although evaluating and analyzing might be harder to use in powerpoint, it can still be done by having students analyzing and evaluate a preexisting powerpoint. Students can apply and understand by making powerpoints of what they know about the scientific method. Students can remember by studying powerpoints of the scientific method.
Technology can be hard to keep up with, but it tends to be worth it. Becoming more aware of technology and learning how to use it in the classroom can be very beneficial for a teacher and for the students. There's many websites you can look up that will help in learning about technology trends which is helpful for teachers. One site I found (https://www.wabisabilearning.com/blog/teachers-technology-trends) is a list of different ways teachers can stay up to date with the newest technology trends.

I have enjoyed using twitter in this class. It's so easy to find various information and see different people's ideas. I've learned how twitter can actually be a beneficial tool when implemented in the classroom, since before I had only used it for social purposes. The benefits are the widespread amount of people you get to interact with and all of the information you can access and share. So far, I haven't experienced any issues using twitter. It's been an overall good and useful experience.
The web design project taught me that it isn't as hard as I thought to create a website. It taught me skills like linking a google calendar and creating pages on the site. I liked how you get the chance to be creative with the website, but at times the website creator was hard to navigate and figure out. I can apply this in my future career by getting better at designing the website and then implementing it in my future classroom.

Assistive and adaptive technologies help students with disabilities in the classroom. They help make the tasks easier for the student to complete. Personally, I have not seen this used in classrooms before but I know it is a super beneficial tool. Adaptive technologies may be harder to start using and understanding, but the outcome would be worth the original struggle. It would be trial and error at some points to see what would work for the student the best.

ILP Design: Google Classroom

For this assignment I chose to use the tool Google Classroom. I was able to create a classroom page and publish annoucements, assignments, and folders. It helped me learn how to use the website and how it could be helpful in the future. I then created a voice thread slide show on what I created and what I learned from it.

ILP Participation: Teacher Interview

https://voicethread.com/share/12202339/

For this assignment I interviewed a teacher to learn about how she uses technology in her classroom and what she thinks of it. I was able to hear the different effects technology has on her class and how it plays a role in their daily classroom. I then created a voice thread slideshow on what I learned from the interview.

Teacher pages on a school website give students and parents the chance to look at who they are, what they teach and how to contact them. For this assignment, I looked at my old middle school's website and found the teacher pages. On these pages you see things like a syllabus, class requirements, and information on the course. It also includes resources for the students and the parents. The specific class page I was looking at is for a Montford Middle School chorus and drama class. It seems like a helpful resource for students and parents to use.

When it comes to technology, there's many ways to incorporate it into making your professional responsibilities more effective and efficient. I would do this by taking advantage of technology that is designed for the job I have. For example, as a teacher I would incorporate things like ClassDojo and computers to help in the classroom. Computers would make it easier for student's assignments to be graded and organized. I also could use things like Microsoft Word and Powerpoint to create whatever documents I need.
In the technology sandbox, each of the tools could be used in the classroom. One that stuck out to me the most, however, is the giant writing tablet. Students could get the chance to write on the smart tablet, keeping them engaged by letting them be more interactive. The tablet could be used for writing lessons, math lessons, drawing, etc. The students would find it very interesting and it would have beneficial effects in the classroom.

My initial experiences using Diigo were mostly me being confused. It took a while to understand the website and how to use it, but afterwards I could see how the website would be a useful tool. I liked how after you get the hang of it, it isn't very hard to use. There wasn't much I didn't like about it, especially because I still don't have very much experience with it.
Blogging has been an interesting experience. I've never done anything like this before, so it's unique and new to me. I've enjoyed getting to learn how to use the website and how to set everything up. I've learned how the website works and how to type up a blog.
A Web 2.0 tool I think I might use when teaching is youtube. It's a great way to teach material to a class, and a video often gets the student's attention. There's so many options on what to choose for your class, and most topics will have a video on them. A popular example is the plethora of math tutorial videos, where it shows you how to do various math problems. This is helpful for students who might be struggling in a certain area or topic. Youtube is a helpful resource that can be beneficial to students, but could also be easily distracting. www.youtube.com
